Our Fun Fourth of July

We had a busy, but fun 4th of July yesterday. We started out by going to the parade downtown in the morning. Then girls thought it was so neat! Autumn loved her little flag they handed out, she kept hold of that thing all day long! Whenever anybody went past in the parade, she’d shout “Over heeeeeere!!!” and wave her flag! It was so cute!

After the parade we all went to the park by our house for a barbecue. The girls were excited to play with their cousins. Nana Gramma brought a pinata and boy was Autumn excited! She’s wanted a pinata everytime we go to the grocery store and she asks for one at her birthday. So she sure had fun with that!

Summer, as usual, wanted nothing to do with me when I had my camera! I was lucky to catch a few without her knowledge!

Here is her classic “Get that thing out of my face, Mommy! I’m not going to smile for you, so just give up and stop buggin’ me!”

After the barbecue we went back downtown for a car parade. They had a classic car show during the day, and in the evening they are brought their cars and drove around downtown. We took Autumn a couple years ago and she loved it! (More pictures to come later.)

Then, for the end of our fun day, we went over to the park to watch the fireworks. They were pretty good this year! I decided to try and take some pictures of them, I never have before. I think they turned out ok for my first try. I definitely want to get a remote shutter release for next year. That would have made it a whole lot easier!

I am so thankful we live in this great country! Check out I Heart Faces for some more fun 4th of July pictures!
