First, I wanted to thank I Heart Faces and their Guest Photographer Judge, Karyn Kuniyuki for selecting my beach photo for 9th place in last week’s contest!! I am so excited! This is my first time placing and it just totally made my week! Thank you so much!!
This week at I Heart Faces, it’s all about our summers! And we can share as many photos as we’d like, so prepare yourself… I’ve got a ton! We’ve had a great summer, the last one before I am officially a mom of a grade schooler! Autumn starts kindergarten at the end of the month and she is so excited! I’m excited for her but I’m freaking out a little bit because my baby’s going to school! I’m not sure what happened to the last six years! They went by too fast. Anyways, here’s a little recap of our summer fun.

Playing in the sand. A lot. My floors are covered in a thin layer of sand. I’m pretty sure I despise sand now…

And another photo shoot. My sister and I traded taking each other’s pictures. The lighting was horrid, but at least Summer is smiling in this one, unlike the 30 others where she looks like she wants to kick us and run away cursing…
Well, that pretty much sums up our summer so far! I’m a bit sad it’s almost over, but I certainly won’t miss the stinking hot heat! Check out I Heart Faces for some more great summer stories!
Edited to add: Thank you all for your sweet comments! I appreciate them so much! They are such a bright spot to my day! Many of you have asked how I’ve edited some of my photos and I wanted to let you know that I have been working very hard this summer with my sister building a new website with bunches of photography and digital scrapbooking tutorials. This is where I will be posting all of my “how-to’s” and tricks. It should be up and ready within the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for that! Thanks again for all of your wonderful comments! I feel so blessed to have found such a wonderful community of fellow photographers!
