Six years ago this precious little angel was born. She was due on the first day of Autumn and that’s why she’s named Autumn! But…this little sweetheart was operating on her own schedule and decided she just could not wait 5 1/2 more weeks to come.
About three weeks before she was born, I started having very severe pain in my liver area. When we called the nurse, they just told us I was probably having heartburn. Heartburn?? I had never in my life had heartburn that felt like that before! The pain would come every couple days or so. We kept calling and they kept insisting it was heartburn and I’d be fine. This went on and on the night of the 16th, I was laying in bed after having a lovely evening celebrating our anniversary and the pain started again. I’m normally not the type of person to run to the doctor for everything, so I was quite surprised when Aaron asked me if I wanted to go to the hospital I immediately agreed.
We get to the hospital and after many hours my doctor tells me I have a very rare and severe type of pre-eclampsia called HELLP Syndrome and we would have to deliver the baby immediately or we both would not survive. So I was sent in for an emergency c-section and Autumn was born in the morning of the 17th. She was in pretty good shape for what we had gone through and only had to stay in the NICU for 10 days. We were given so many blessings and I know I was inspired to agree to go the hospital that night.
In six short years she has gone from this: 5 1/2 weeks premature, 4 lbs. 13oz., 18 1/3 inches…

…to this: 6 years old, 45 lbs., 46.5 inches, toothy smile from losing 9 teeth already, growing so fast I can’t keep up with her! I’m so thankful to have a healthy, happy little girl! In just two short weeks she’ll be off to kindergarten. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with myself! I’m not ready for my girl to be growing up!
