Dandelions – Beautiful Little Weeds

Dandelions are so pretty. Aaron hates them, especially when they make their homes in our grass. But I have to say, they are beautiful. And to two little girls, they are full of magic. :)

Beautiful! Do you prefer the extention tubes over close-up filters?

Hi Amarie!

Thank you for your sweet comment! I chose the extension tubes partly because I had tried one before (the Canon brand one) and I liked it. I hadn’t heard of the filters until I started to do some research when I was ready to buy. I read a lot of threads at Digital Photography School and the majority recommended the extension tubes. The filters are cheaper, but I liked the look of the photos done with extension tubes better.

I purchased the Kenko set of three and I have been so happy with them! There are a few different brands and different sets and I found that most of the people on DPS recommended the Kenko brand. It allows you to adjust your aperture, just like if you had your regular lens on. Some of the others don’t allow you to do that. You have to adjust your aperture before you attach the extension tubes and then once you had them on, you are stuck with that aperture. That right there was a major selling point for me! I want to be flexible and have the ability to adjust my aperture depending on my shot.

I have been nothing but happy with them! I’m so glad I decided to buy them! They’re so much fun! I think you would love them too! They are a great and inexpensive way to do macro photography. The macro lenses are kind of spendy and I wasn’t sure I wanted to go that way yet. Eventually I’m sure I’lll get one, but probably not soon! These work perfectly!

Let me know if you have any more questions! I’d love to help!

These photos are stunning. I love the softness you created with the wide open aperature…And I too love dandelions…they are still magical!
