Today is the last day to enter our Love Your Shot! | Link-Up! We have nearly 150 entries already! Thank you all for excitement and enthusiasm. It’s been a pleasure to see all of your favorite faces!

If you haven’t had a chance to enter, you’re not too late! You have until 11:59 pm tonight to get your links in. :) Check out the fun interview we had with Angie and Amy of I Heart Faces. They are such fun girls and it was a blast getting to know them a little better. They are our guest judges this week and their winner will receive a $100 gift card to Florabella Actions and Textures!

Here’s one of my favorite faces… my sweet little Autumn. She always has something going on in her head. When she gets this look… watch out! She’s got trouble brewing!

I took this picture in the morning before school. We were in full shade in front of our house with the sun rising behind Autumn. The sky behind me, and in front of her, was bright and lit the houses across the street from us. This gave her some really nice catchlights. If you’re shooting in full shade, try to position your subject to the very edge of the shade. This will allow you to get some of the bright light beyond it and create bright catchlights in the eyes.

Sweet Shot Tuesday

Sunday afternoon we went over to the grandparents’ house for dinner. My mother-in-law has the prettiest little section of flowers by her front door and sometimes it’s all I can do to keep the girls from picking all her beautiful flowers! Well, this day there was this pretty little pink rose begging me to take a picture of it. So I did. :) Isn’t the light so perfect?

I did something to this photo I very, very rarely ever do…I cropped it! I normally never do that, but for some reason today I felt like a square photo. So I cropped in close to the flower and added a texture from the Olde World Collection at Love that Shot.

Love Your Shot! | Link-Up

in love that shot

It’s time for the Love Your Shot! | Link-Up over at Love that Shot! Come on over and share your favorite photo you took this week and tell us a little about how you took it or how you processed it.

Monday night, our little family went over to the park to play a fun game of Plants vs. Zombies! It’s quite a fun little game, especially for the little girls. It’s based off of a computer game that Aaron likes to play, and now Autumn likes to play it too. She came up with the idea of playing it out in real life over at the park! The object of the game is kill the zombies before they get you and eat your brains. Your weapons are vegetables and plants. My favorite is the pea shooters! We used balls and threw them at the “zombies.”

So on our way home, we spot this pretty little tree with these cute little seeds hanging from them. Autumn and Summer say they are their peas for their pea shooters! I had to take some pictures of them and was snapping away until Aaron told me to come over to where he was and look straight up. So I did and this is what I saw. Beautiful bokeh sparkles smiling at me! My tip is to look up. You might be surprised at what you find!

And here is a photo of the game in action! The girls LOVED it!
